Printable handwriting paper

The three-line primary ruling used in classrooms: a solid top line, a dashed midline to land lowercase letters on, and a red baseline. It's the same system our name-tracing worksheets use.

Pick the size that matches your child's grade — larger for kindergarten, tighter as pencil control improves — then print as many sheets as you need. No sign-up, no watermark.

Questions

Why does handwriting paper have a dashed middle line?
The dashed midline shows children where lowercase letters stop and where the rounded body of letters like 'a' and 'e' should sit, so letters end up a consistent height.
Which size should I choose?
Start with the largest (K–1) ruling for preschool and kindergarten, move to Grade 2 as control improves, and Grade 3 once letters are consistently formed.
Want the letters pre-printed to trace?
Our name and letter tracing worksheets put dashed letters right on this same ruling — type a name or pick a letter and print.
